About Arlington Dance Academy in Arlington Heights
Arlington Dance Academy students have been awarded scholarships from Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, have performed in local productions, and are involved in their High School Orchesis programs and dance teams. We have students who have chosen to continue their dance training at the college level and who have gone on to dance professionally. Jeanette studied ballet at the University of Illinois while earning her BS in Actuarial Sciences. After graduation, she continued her training under Avnun Yakabov while maintaining her consulting career. Jeanette was asked to teach dance part-time for one year and it was clear where her true passions lie. She swiftly transitioned from the business world to the dance community and hasn’t looked back once! Jeanette has performed with the Full Body Poetry Ensemble, Reverse Live and Enidsmithdance.

The DanceXpress Dance Studio
In June of 2004 became owner and director of The DanceXpress Dance Studio (which opened in 1986 as Dorene’s DanceXpress under the direction of Dorene Wackerfuss). Ms Sophia started dance lessons at age 5 with Bonath Twins School of Dance and has been choreographing, performing, and teaching ever since. She is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where she performed in residence and on tour with Northern Dance Theater. With a B.A. Degree in theater dance, she has been teaching a wide variety of dance for over 25 years.
