About Genesee Theatre in Waukegan
In 1926, A.L. Brumund, H.C. Burnett, and D.T. Webb purchased land, at the corner of Genesee and Clayton Streets, from the Y.M.C.A. for $130,000. Their wish was to create a community center for Waukegan Get rewarded for your love of entertainment! Your one-time donation grants you access to exclusive benefits. A portion of your membership fee is a tax-deductible contribution to The Friends of the Historic Genesee Theatre. With an endless variety of entertainment and events, from Broadway shows, concerts, ballet and comedy – to corporate meetings, commencements, special events and more.
