FOUNDED IN MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN KO-THI DANCE COMPANY HAS BEEN A BEACON OF AFRICAN AND CARIBBEAN DANCE TRADITIONS SINCE 1969, BRINGING Founded in 1969, KTDC passionately preserves, teaches, documents, interprets, and performs dance and music rooted in the cultures of the African Diaspora and has continually diversified its programming to incorporate ongoing national, economic, and audience evolution without sacrificing the mission of inspiring our community to celebrate themselves and others through the present-day interpretation of ancient and contemporary African dance and music.

M ike Konkel and Sheli Schroeder are nationally recognized swing dance competitors. West Coast Swing is their passion and specialty. They began their dance partnership in 2003. They competed on the National Swing Dance Circuit in the Classic Swing division for 16 years. They are most proud of their two US Open wins; Teams (2004) and Sophisticated Swing Division (2017). Mike and Sheli truly love dancing, competing, and teaching together. They are passionate in growing Wisconsin’s west coast swing community and are inspired by watching the progress of their students.
