About Learn to Dance Tango in Tempe
David’s early formative tango teacher was Michael Walker. He studied with many world class Argentine performers and instructors, although Milena Plebs and Horacio Godoy were both notable influences in his tango. He studied modern dance with Marni Wood (former dancer / director of the Martha Graham school) and Ethel Dias (former teacher with Alvin Ailey Extension) and Fran Cohen (Center Dance Ensemble director). He is studying Chen Style (Practical Method) Tai Chi Chuan with Chen Zhonghua. He has been teaching Argentine Tango for over 20 years. Our current students include people who have performed with the Joffrey Ballet, on Broadway, with Erick Hawkins (Modern) Dance Company and in Las Vegas. Teachers of both social and classical dance take our classes. We have students performing in international dance festivals and for major corporations.
