About Melba’s Dance School and Dance Shoppe in McAllen
Rebekah Cantu is the Director of Melba’s Dance School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Belhaven University, where she received a merit-based dance scholarship to attend. She began formal dance training later than most, at the age of 14, but her dedication and passion quickly set her apart. Recognizing her potential, a local dance school awarded her a scholarship. allowing her to immerse herself fully in dance. She worked tirelessly, taking every class, and was determined to pursue her dream. Veronica Leal has been a faculty member at Melba’s Dance since 2017. Before this, she danced as a student at Melba’s for more than a decade. During her senior year, she danced the lead role in the Melba’s Dance production of Swan Lake as Odette. She specializes in jazz, lyrical and ballet.
