About Uptown Dance Center in Boston
Each June, Uptown Dance Center for Performing Artists proudly presents our Annual Dance Recital—a joyful community celebration of our students’ growth and hard work. Every student has the opportunity to perform two dance routines on stage, highlighting the skills, confidence, and creativity they have developed throughout the year. Students at Uptown have the opportunity to participate in local, regional, and national dance competitions as part of our Elite Performance Program. Participation requires a strong commitment to regular dance classes, along with additional rehearsals to learn and refine choreography. Dance teams are formed through auditions or invitation, ensuring each student is placed in an environment where they can grow and succeed. Through competition, students develop showmanship, discipline, and teamwork while learning the importance of sportsmanship, responsibility, and respect.
