UNL Symphony Orchestra performed on tour in Norfolk, Nebraska, and Rapid City, South Dakota. A student hangs up her photos in preparation for a student critique. ‘Big Fish’ was a collaborative musical produced by the Nebraska Repertory Theatre and UNL Opera and featuring projections created by the emerging media arts program. Students from both the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film and Glenn Korff School of Music collaborated on the fantastical musical that revolves around the extraordinary life of Edward Bloom, a charismatic storyteller with a penchant for embellishment. It has been fun to be one of the first students in the recently opened Omaha location. The owners and my instructor have been not only professional but friendly and enthusiastic about my learning experience. This definitely was a great decision. We have enjoyed dancing and learning with NBD staff and other wonderful folks we have met through the dance studio. There is something special about partnership dancing.

Alicia Happ, wife, mom of four amazing kiddos, and self-proclaimed people pleaser, found her dream job as the Owner and Event Coordinator of Delray 817 in Lincoln’s Historic Haymarket and The Depot in Seward. After 10 years as a stay-at-home mom, Alicia was ready to bring her creative energy and love for people to these beautifully preserved venues. She and her husband jumped at the chance to purchase Delray 817 (formerly The Delray Ballroom) in 2021 and The Depot in 2023 and they couldn’t be happier with the decision. Tahani was born and raised in Lincoln. She has been dancing for two decades. In 2005, she started hip hop at CK eventually adding in other styles including jazz, lyrical and acro. Over the years, Tahani has traveled to dance conventions, Branson and even was part of the troupe that went to Disneyland to perform in 2017 and 2024. She enjoys telling a story through dance and the confidence that dance brings. As a teacher, she loves to watch her students grow whether it’s in a few weeks or a few years. It’s a full circle moment to watch a student fall in love with dance as she did. In her free time, Tahani enjoys hanging out with her friends, watching movies and traveling…especially to Disneyland.
